THE CHALLENGE:
In August 2024, Mark contacted our team initially inquiring about a home gym project. He had put aside space to create a custom home gym and was searching to find the right fit to help him kit out the space with high-quality gym equipment.
Mark had set aside a massive 105m2 space to install a personal gym to rival Mark Wahlberg, which included additional amenities such as a sauna and swimming pool. The scope for this project was massive.
Mark wanted a one-stop shop of luxury fitness and well-being for his family, with all the equipment and facilities to increase longevity in terms of health and life span. He wanted a range of equipment that would enable them to achieve personal fitness goals regarding strength, conditioning, cardio and general well-being.
The facility is impressive, with everything the family could need from a fitness facility.
THE SOLUTION:
Taking care to understand his needs fully, Rhiannon crafted a well-designed layout for all of the equipment that would be required. Free reign was given to create several designs, giving Rhiannon creative freedom to try different layouts until they arrived at the right choice.
The finished space includes products from across the Origin range, including flooring, sprint turf, various pieces of strength and conditioning equipment, a custom rig and plates, and multiple pieces of cardio equipment.
Mark has an avid interest in many different types of fitness, which resulted in the final solution, which includes equipment that would allow a wide variety of training sessions and techniques.
Key Equipment
The starting point of the project was to ensure a solid platform to work out from, which meant choosing appropriate gym flooring for the entire site. It was decided that a mixture of 20mm Premium Tiles and an Elite Series Custom Turf Track would be the best fit.
Strength training was also a priority, which led Rhiannon to add an Impulse Encore Multi Gym and design a custom Performance Series Rig. Both pieces elevate the space and offer modular training solutions adaptable to different training needs.
Additional strength machines were also included, such as the Impulse IF93 Leg Extension/Curl, a dual strength machine that allows for more targeted leg training. It's a versatile tool and smart design decision, freeing up additional space for other equipment.
The custom Performance Series Rig had some unique features, including the extended Performance Series Pull-Up Ramp and storage bays fitted with a dumbbell rack underneath, which keep his RD3 Dumbbell Sets securely stored.
The unique size of the space meant that there was additional room to include a range of cardio equipment, including the Impulse XSC70 Stair Climber, Origin Upright Bike, and Storm Rowing Machine, among the other equipment already in the space.
Throughout the installation, there were a number of challenges, but Mark felt the Origin team was fabulous at getting things back on track and delivering a solution we can both be proud of.
THE OUTCOME:
Mark indicated that our design for the facility and support in equipment selection, installation planning, and post-installation support exceeded expectations. With a few final adjustments remaining, the space is set to offer unique access to world-class gym equipment in his garden.
I extensively researched the market to find the best solutions for my dream home fitness & wellness centre. Origin was head and shoulders above everyone else when taking into account the quality of equipment, solution for the space and value for money.
It was also a pleasure to work with the Origin team who were so helpful in the design process and during installation. The facility is so fabulous our friends and wider family keep asking if they can get a membership.

Rhiannon was a star. We toyed around with various designs, different equipment options and with Ben's (Product Design Assistant) help she put together a solution that ticked all the boxes. Murray (Orders & Installation Manager) and Andy (Orders & Installation Co-Ordinator) were also excellent with regards to the installation planning, troubleshooting during the install and afterwards with snags that emerged.
