Often, the biggest challenge faced by Personal Trainers opening a studio is that they need to be able to cater to a large range of clients, within a limited space. Tackling this challenge creatively with the help of 3D design software helps understand the potential of the studio before a final kit list is created.

Origin Fitness account managers work with each client directly to fully understand their needs, before beginning to talk about specific equipment and flooring. This pre-design stage helps save time later on, as the whole process is based on experience and understanding.

The main challenge was designing a layout to accommodate all the equipment without sacrificing space. Ryan was very efficient at coming up with various layout designs which allowed me to visualise the studio before any equipment or flooring was delivered.

This was a huge factor as I was able to see what design would work best for the studio and see what space I would have left for things such as free weight areas.

The Layout

The gym layout has allowed me to take on more group classes as multiple clients are able to use a different piece of equipment or use an area of space to perform exercises without getting in the way of another. This has allowed me to take on more clients, which has helped the business grow considerably.

Over and above the total atmosphere, a good gym layout can vastly increase the success of a fitness business. Cluttered spaces, too little movement area and a lack of scalable equipment can all negatively impact a member experience, resulting in lower overall retention.

The Equipment

Client feedback in terms of the equipment and layout has been excellent. Everyone is enjoying the equipment and I get regular comments on the smoothness and feel of the cable machines in particular!
