Sleds are the perfect functional training tools. We currently stock a range of sled types including Prowler Sleds and the Torque Tank M1 & M4 ranges. We also stock the accessory range to go with this including harnesses and battle ropes to complete the setup.
Sleds are normally loaded with weight plates which provide the resistance level and are pushed or pulled during training. Being plate loaded allows sleds to be tailored to users specific needs which would explain why the popularity of these machines has grown so much in recent years. They provide more than enough training options offering both strength and endurance workouts

Sleds are normally loaded with weight plates which provide the resistance level and are pushed or pulled during training. Being plate loaded allows sleds to be tailored to users specific needs which would explain why the popularity of these machines has grown so much in recent years. They provide more than enough training options offering both strength and endurance workouts in one go. Prowler Sleds have become essential for Hyrox and CrossFit training.
With so many exercises possible to work it allows a wide range of muscle groups to be hit in one go. The Tank range is perfect for group training or circuit sessions with the accessories and additional storage available. Feel the burn when training different muscle groups including the core, upper, and lower body. While great for strength training, sleds can even build cardio fitness if used in a circuit training environment.
Sleds offer versatility compered with traditional machines as the handle design gives the user different positions to workout from. Traditional Prowler Sleds feature pole like handles which offer high and low handle positions. Both positions are great for working the lower body mainly targeting the quads, hamstrings, and glutes. The low position can even be used for sport specific training such as rugby mimicking low tackles or scrummaging positions.
Pulling the sled with a rope attached will also work the lower body but can implement upper body strength by using the arms and shoulders. Used in HIIT workouts like Hyrox, they can be used as a conditioning tool to finish muscles off after a hard workout or thrown into the mix as the main event. Adding in a harness can be great for sprinters for adding a slight bit of resistance to training. To see these sleds in action see our case studies with Slade Fitness, Kings Troop, and Club FEA.
