Safety
Cable machines are considered a safer alternative to free weights such as dumbbells and weight plates. This is because the weights are safely stacked away from the user, so if the load becomes too heavy the exerciser can simply let go of the cable to release the weight. This is preferable to dropping free weights on your toes!
