The challenge:

NAMIX Performance Centre in Northwich, Cheshire is not a typical gym. Co-owned by Charlotte and Chris, it was built around a belief that serious training and genuine community support aren't mutually exclusive. The facility offers members access to high-quality strength and conditioning alongside specialist sports injury treatment and recovery services, all under one roof.

As the membership grew and expectations rose, the existing facility needed to evolve. Charlotte and Chris wanted to expand the training environment by upgrading the equipment, enhancing the strength and conditioning offer, and creating a space that better reflected NAMIX's identity and the level of experience their members had come to expect.

Finding the right partner to help them do that wasn't straightforward. NAMIX has a distinct concept, and they needed someone who would take the time to understand it properly before making a single recommendation. When they started speaking to suppliers, Tom from Origin Fitness was the first person who really seemed to grasp what they were going for.

The solution:

The project began with a proper conversation. Tom Alder spent time getting under the skin of NAMIX: who their members were, how they trained, what the space needed to achieve, and what made NAMIX different from every other gym in the area. That understanding shaped everything that followed.

Working collaboratively with Charlotte and Chris, Tom helped develop the layout for the expanded facility, designing a strength and conditioning zone that could serve both individual training and group sessions without either feeling compromised. Equipment and storage were integrated to keep the space feeling open and purposeful, with every piece selected to match NAMIX's training philosophy and the genuine needs of their membership- not just to fill the space.

One of the most impactful elements of the project was the flooring. Origin supplied and installed a new sprint track, customised in NAMIX's brand colours, that immediately gave the facility a professional, distinctive look. The quality of the installation made a strong impression on members, particularly in classes like Pilates where surface comfort matters. The bespoke sprint track has become a popular feature in its own right, especially among members training for high-intensity events like HYROX.

Origin managed delivery and installation throughout, ensuring the expanded facility was ready for members without disruption to the gym's day-to-day operation. This was as important as the design and selection work that came before it in this busy facility.

The outcome:

The expanded NAMIX facility has exceeded the expectations of both the owners and the membership. The new strength and conditioning zone has broadened what NAMIX can offer, the flooring has been repeatedly regarded as a meaningful step up, and the overall space now reflects the standard that Charlotte and Chris have always set for their members.

More than the physical result, what this project demonstrated is what a proper partnership looks like. Charlotte and Chris came to Origin with a concept that needed to be understood, not just serviced - and that's exactly the kind of conversation Origin is built for.
