Product Development Assistant

Origin Fitness is seeking a motivated individual who is passionate about sport and fitness to join its product department who enjoys keeping up to date with the latest fitness designs, trends and products. You will provide critical support to the product team and be given a unique opportunity for growth and development.


Reports to: Product Manager  
Location:  HQ | Newbridge

Salary:  DOE
Contract Type:  Full Time. Hybrid Remote.

Our fitness equipment is of the highest quality, and our expert sales teams work closely with our extensive customer base to ensure we deliver excellent customer service and play an instrumental role in assisting our customers in achieving their goals.

Responsibilities

  • To support and assist the Product Development Team in their tasks, following the plan of the live roadmap
  • Undertake research tasks on the current industry, taking both a broad view and project specific work
  • Assist the team with any testing work as required
  • Maintain a good and active knowledge of the fitness industry and its trends
  • Engage in the design process where needed and applicable, with a view to learning about product design and how it relates to Origin
  • Create, maintain and manage product documentation in the company archive both for new launches and existing products
  • Create customer facing product collateral using industry leading software
  • Work alongside Sales and Marketing to create strategies for product growth and development
  • Become familiar with Autodesk Inventor and take on assembly and rendering tasks for the team when needed


Essential Skills & Experience

  • Good interpersonal skills and a committed team player
  • Customer Service experience, that can be either through the telephone or in a face-to-face environment
  • A knowledge of the fitness industry and enthusiasm to work on growing a fitness brand
  • Ability/willingness to learn design skills, applications and fundamentals
  • Good written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Products
  • Basic experience with a 3D CAD package such as Inventor/SolidWorks/Sketchup/Fusion etc
  • Comfortable with self-motivated learning

  • Integrity, work ethic and intelligence


Desirable Skills & Experience

  • A relevant health/fitness/sports qualification such HNC/HND or practical certification in the field
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud Package
  • Experience with rendering and editing images
  • Previous fitness industry experience at any level
  • Ability to provide a brief folio/example of previous work showing good communication skills and proficiency in Office 365 and present this to the team during an interview
