Origin Fitness recently completed the installation of a brand new fitness suite at Auchmuty High School in Fife.
Given the tight budgets council run schools are facing, one of the main objectives of delivering this refurbishment was cost effectiveness. The fact that Origin Fitness has a wide variety of equipment brands at its disposal meant that we could tailor the equipment offering to ensure Auchmuty High School were getting the perfect balance between a budget and performance fitness facility.
The Impulse equipment provided is perfect for a light commercial use environment like a school. Both the CV and weights equipment featured is heard wearing and good value for money. This project is also a good example of how to make use of a relatively small space. The temptation is often to try and fit in as many pieces of equipment as possible to maximise usage, however from both a design and maintenance point of view this isn’t always the best course of action. Auchmuty opted for a selection of equipment which gives them flexibility and variety without the gym feeling too busy and cramped.
The Impulse equipment which the school chose includes cross trainers, treadmills and rowing machines from the R700 series as well as Plamax fixed resistance machines and Sterling benches. Origin Fitness have two staff dedicated to looking after the schools market, so Mike Scott, Sales Manager was able to dedicate time to assist with all aspects of the planning and implementation of the project.
