Tony Schofield New Non-Executive Chairman of Origin Fitness

Origin Fitness is delighted to welcome Tony Schofield as its new Non-Executive Chairman. Tony will be supporting the board and senior management team to continue to grow the company and to help implement its ambitious five-year strategy.

Tony has over 30 years’ experience working both for a number of brands both internationally and within the UK the last 20 of which he has spent in the drinks industry. During this time he was based in Prague for several years as the CEO of the Iconic Czech Spirits Brand, Becherovka. Prior to this, he spent nearly 15 years in the computer industry mainly in Finance Director positions with a focus on mergers and acquisitions.

Being a gym member for over 40 years is what drew Tony to Origin Fitness and the fitness industry. He sees the industry becoming more dynamic and competitive, offering more interesting and better ways to stay fit, but also ways to make the experience more engaging and enjoyable.

He believes Origin Fitness is at the forefront of recognising changes within the fitness industry and offering tailed solutions to gym operators not just in terms of equipment, but also gym design.

Tony commented “I am delighted to be taking on this new role at Origin Fitness, I see this as a great opportunity to both guide and participate with a company that is at the forefront of offering best in class service and solutions to its existing customers.

My role is to advise and support the management team in order to continually develop and improve the company’s operations in the UK and abroad. This is in order to further accelerate the profitable growth of what is already a very successful business.

I expect that one-day Origin Fitness will be the first choice for all gym operators in the U.K. and be considered among the top three choices in Europe.”
